Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to all your questions about SpecKit features, tech stacks, exports, and billing systems.
SpecKit is an AI Software Architect platform that helps you turn raw app ideas into a comprehensive suite of technical specification documents (PRD, database schema, API spec, roadmap, etc.) automatically and structured in minutes.
ChatGPT and Claude are general-purpose chatbots that generate linear text per command. SpecKit is specifically designed for software engineering: it works in parallel to assemble all specification documents synchronously, validates design choices through adaptive interviews, and features Impact Analysis to automatically update all relevant documents when you modify any of them in the editor.
SpecKit supports a wide range of popular backends, frontends, databases, and payment gateways, such as Next.js, React, Node.js, Go, Python (FastAPI/Django), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Prisma ORM, Stripe, Midtrans, and more. Your chosen tech stack directly influences the technical document formats (like schema data types and API endpoint samples).
Absolutely. All documents in SpecKit are written in industry-standard Markdown (.md) format. You can easily copy the raw text, download individual files, or export the entire blueprint archive to add directly into your Git repository.
The security of your ideas is our priority. All project specifications are securely and privately stored in our encrypted cloud databases. We also guarantee that your project details and chats will not be used by third parties to train public AI models.
The Free plan gives you 1 Blueprint (a complete set of specifications for one project) and basic AI chat assistant access. For unlimited projects, more custom documents, and full collaborative/impact analysis features, you can upgrade to our Pro plan.
